Welcome to the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District
website.
BWCDD owns and operates the Buckeye Canal,
which delivers nearly 130,000 AC-FT of irrigation annually to
over 16,000 acres.
Founded in 1885, the Buckeye Canal
has a rich history in providing irrigation for over 120 years.
Predating Arizona statehood, the Buckeye Valley and the Town of
Buckeye are named after the canal. One of the three founders,
M.M. Jackson, named the canal after his home state of Ohio.
